Our Story
Fresh Shot was founded by Mike and Don, brought together by a shared love of the outdoors and a commitment to protecting it.
Michael (Mike) Winters grew up in Ontario and spent much of his life living, working, and exploring across Canada and beyond. An avid outdoorsman, Mike has always believed that time spent in nature builds respect for it, a value he has passed on to his two teenage sons through family adventures. His global travels revealed both the beauty and fragility of our planet, from witnessing dying coral reefs in the Caribbean to supporting coral restoration projects in the Florida Keys and participating in community plastic cleanups above and below the waterline.
A Mechanical Engineer by training, Mike built a successful career in the multinational energy sector. That experience became a catalyst for deeper environmental awareness, eventually leading him to manage green energy projects focused on energy efficiency, waste reduction, and minimizing environmental toxins.
Fresh Shot is a natural extension of that journey, applying innovation and responsibility to everyday products.
Don Liddle grew up with a deep-rooted connection to nature, shaped by a family legacy centred on sustainability and conservation. His family’s tourism business in Northern Canada relied on long-term stewardship of natural resources, reinforcing the importance of protecting the environment for future generations.
More recently, Don and his family travelled internationally, visiting some of the world’s most pristine natural destinations. What stood out most wasn’t just their beauty, but the growing impact of plastic waste and pollution. Motivated to be part of the solution, Don shifted his focus to developing products made with natural-based ingredients and designed with the full product lifecycle in mind.
Together, Mike and Don founded Fresh Shot to create high-performance athletic cleaning solutions that respect both athletes and the environment.
